A collector had an interesting discovery with a Gold trimmed Puss n Boots jar - has a decal that I have never seen on any Shawnee before and it is definitely vintage as has the bronzing detailing as well. Beautiful decal and even studying it, no part of the decal if it were trimmed shows up on other pieces! Often on shakers we can find a small cluster of flowers that is part of a larger decal that a part is cut out. I am such a decal fan that it fascinates me to find something unusual that is not a tampered (artist enhanced) piece. Keep your eyes pealed and watch for unusual decoration!
Something I was never aware of is the train planter set - the engine comes in two different shades of blue. Here is a picture of them for comparison.
Often times Shawnee and I am sure other potteries as well would use items as souvenir hence we find pieces with labels still attached - fun to find still intact with all the years gone by especially as often manufacturer labels were soaked off whereas the souvenir piece were mementos from a trip or event.
Another interesting discovery this past month - a collector sent me a picture of a red headed Granny Ann - always a nice find as not very many of them. Well, to date they have all been found on the lavender apron but this one has a peach apron so is quite a find!!! Curious if others have found any not on the lavender apron - in all the pictures of those in collections, I have only seen the lavender ones.
The collectors who had the terrific display of Valencia last month found two nesting bowls - very hard to find!
Appreciate all the input.

Until next month,
