Shawnee Tales
Apr 2021

Putting this together at the last minute as has been a difficult month. I lost my 96 year old father on March 4th. Most incredible man ever!

So emotional going though the house. Mom has been gone ten years but I recall seeing a fern and flower teapot and creamer IN GOLD TRIM Mind you I had no fern and flower in gold. She teased me about finding it at a garage sale for two dollars. I figured she would surprise me with it for Christmas or a birthday but no! I found it tucked away with several other collectibles.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to sell a collection of Precious Moments - between 2,000 and 2500. Lots of memories of helping her with the collection but as a die hard collector - I literally do not have ten inches of wall space for any of the beautiful cabinets she has.

A collector keeps an eye out for anything related to early Shawnee Pottery related items and recently found these tiles - spectacular find!

A.E. Tile Company also made a Bo Peep tile, and I always suspected that Shawnee was paying homage to them when they took over the factory by creating the Tom Tom teapot and Bo Peep pitcher.

The dedication tile is in Pam's book, but I couldn't get a response from her to find out anymore. So, they at least made them in 2 colors that we know of.
Will have more for next month! Hope Spring opens some flea markets for everyone to get back on the hunt.

Until then,
